Questions people ask about this
Can you identify a pest from droppings alone?
Often yes. Size, shape, and location narrow it fast: rice-grain droppings with pointed ends suggest mice, capsule-shaped pellets suggest rats, pepper-like specks in bed seams suggest bed bugs, and coffee-ground-like debris suggests roaches.
What counts as a real pest emergency?
Stinging insects near an allergic person, rodents chewing wiring, active wasp nests at a doorway, and confirmed structural termite activity are urgent. A few ants or one spider is not, and any company calling it an emergency is selling.
